A man has fled his home in Pote Village,
Mashonaland Central province of Zimbabwe after allegedly impregnating his mother for a second time, the Daily Mail reports . The mom also fled their village.
Simon Matsvara and his mother Ethel
Vhangare decided to leave after members of their church learned of the alleged
pregnancy. Just four years ago, the two were reportedly fined by village elders when Vhangare suffered a miscarriage.
The village’s chief, Chinamhora says the community was outraged by the
allegations and that he has organized a crew to find Matsvara and Vhangare. “We are going to hunt for the two and we will punish them severely to send a clear message to would-be offenders that we do not tolerate such acts,” he told state-owned Herald newspaper.
The pair reportedly began their incestuous
relationship back in 2008 when Matsvara
was asked by relatives to care for his ailing
father, Agripah, who later died. When the
mother became pregnant the first time, they were fined and told to end their
relationship. News of the second alleged
pregnancy came when the mother started
skipping church and concerned members
visited her home. It was there where they
discovered the mother was five months
pregnant–allegedly by her own son.
The two reportedly left their village soon
after the discovery and are considered “on
the run.”
