Addressing journalists at the Assembly’s press office, Mr. Maikeffi said that he was at Government House on three occasions but was unable to serve the notice.

“I was there on Monday and I was told they travelled to Doma Local Government for a function. After waiting, security operatives at the second gate denied me access. Today
(Tuesday) I was there on two occasions with my official vehicle yet I was denied access from the first gate,” he said. Mr. Maikeffi said that the Assembly would use alternative means to ensure that the governor was dully served with the
impeachment notice.

“We are going to use the media to serve the governor because the House has passed a motion for alternative service through the media,” he disclosed.

The Assembly on Monday directed Mr. Maikeffi to serve Mr. Al-Makura with the impeachment notice for alleged gross
misconduct and misappropriation of funds.
The notice was signed by 20 of the 24 lawmakers in the state during a sitting presided over by the Speaker, Musa Mohammed (PDP-Nasarawa Central) on Monday.

The Assembly has 20 PDP members and four APC members, while the governor is a member of the APC.
