Relatives inside the house at 13704 Orchard Ridge Road frantically called the sheriff's office about 8:30 a.m., saying the boy was stabbing his grandmother and threatening to stab his mother, too.

Deputies who responded said they entered the home and were confronted by the boy - said to weigh at least 100 pounds -who immediately charged at them, waving large butcher knives in each hand in a slashing motion.

The sheriff's office said deputies pepper-sprayed the boy, which caused him to drop the knives and fall to the ground.

The boy was taken to Meritus Medical Center for a mental evaluation; because of the boy's age, no charges were immediately filed in the case.

The grandmother suffered stab wounds to her hands, authorities said, but no deputies were injured in the incident.
