Female Suicide bomber strikes near Kano mosque,

A teenage female suicide bomber attacked last night in Kano. She detonated the explosives near Umar Bin Khatab Mosque at 9.30pm Monday after she was prevented from entering the mosque along Zaria Road.

The casualty figure in the incident is unclear at the time of report, the incident happened just as faithful were dispersing after observing the late night (Tarawih) prayer.

Monday night’s bombing in Kano came 24 hours after a similar attack on a restaurant and a mosque in Jos, the Plateau State capital, left no fewer than 44 persons dead and 48 others injured.
Another attack on a church in Potiskum, Yobe state, also on Sunday, killed six people.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but security agencies believe the bombings have the imprimatur of the extremist Boko Haram sect that has been killing and maiming innocent Nigerians in the past six years.
